How we rank attorneys
Every attorney on Boca Injury Attorneys receives a Boca Injury Score from 0 to 10. The score is computed the same way for every attorney, and advertising can never change it. Here is exactly how it works.
1. We aggregate reviews across platforms — automatically
When an attorney claims their profile, they connect their public review pages — Google Business Profile, Yelp, Trustpilot, and Facebook. Every night, our sync engine pulls the current star rating and review count directly from each connected platform: Google and Yelp through their official APIs, and Trustpilot from the public rating data on the linked review page. Nothing is cherry-picked: if a platform is connected, all of its reviews count.
Every figure on a profile is labeled with its origin, and only trustworthy figures count toward the score. ✓ synced means the number came straight from the platform, with the date of the last successful sync. ✓ verified means an attorney entered it and our team checked it against the linked public profile before it counts (Facebook offers no public ratings API, so Facebook figures always go through this manual check). pending means an attorney reported it and it is excluded from the scoreuntil it is verified or a sync replaces it. If a platform can't be reached, we keep the last synced numbers rather than guessing.
2. We weight by review volume
A platform with 300 reviews tells you more than a platform with 3. So each platform's rating is weighted by its number of reviews when we combine them into a single average.
3. We apply statistical smoothing
To keep a lawyer with one 5-star review from outranking a lawyer with 4.9 stars across hundreds of reviews, we use Bayesian smoothing: every attorney's average is blended toward the citywide average (4.2 stars), with a weight equivalent to 25 reviews. The more genuine reviews an attorney has, the more their own numbers dominate — and the less the smoothing matters.
The result is scaled to 0–10 and shown to one decimal place. Ties are broken by total review count.
4. What advertising does — and does not — do
Attorneys can pay for visibility: a Featured badge, highlighted cards, or homepage placement. Sponsored placement is always clearly labeled. Paying never changes an attorney's score or organic rank position. An unadvertised attorney with better reviews will always rank above an advertiser with worse ones.
5. Who gets listed
The directory covers practices that serve personal injury clients in Boca Raton, Florida — with offices anywhere along the Fort Lauderdale–West Palm Beach corridor, since injury attorneys throughout the area routinely represent Boca Raton clients. Unclaimed listings are compiled from public sources — business listings and publicly displayed review data — and show only that public information.
When an attorney claims a profile, we verify the claim against Florida Bar records before granting editing access. Claiming is free, and it's also how a listed attorney can correct or update anything on their profile.

Connect all of your review platforms — most attorneys who claim their profile see their score improve because more of their reviews get counted.
